The bouldering area in the Silva Silvretta Park is located at 2300 meters altitude and offers here at unbearable temperatures over 35 degrees have good conditions for bouldering. In July 2010, ie in time for the heat wave, it burned me and Mia not only on the skin, but also under the nails - we need real rock again! Inspired by the new Topo on bouldering in the alps "alps en bloc 1" we promptly opted for the Silvretta. Included in the package was the camera, so there's a small, 10-minute video of our trip Boulder.
The beautiful Boulder area Silvapark / Silvretta is located below the Ballunspitze, Kop above the dam at Ischgl - on closer Wirl. Situated at about 2300 meters, it is one of the best destinations for those hot summer months. The gneiss rock is mostly very sharp and rough, sometimes not optimally fixed and it is dominated by small bars. Whoever takes up this rich skin without reserves, needs to book a room for one night! The boarding times range from 20 to 60 minutes, depending on the sector, starting point and personal fitness. I found it exhausting every time. If you want to shorten the boarding something that can use the black grouse cable car. A season ticket costs 40, - EUR and the boarding much easier. Annoying that the last descent is already taking place at 17:00 clock. The entire area is divided into several sectors, there are a total of just under 200 Boulder, of which the creme de la creme rather in the top 7th and 8th grades Boulder can be found. Some exceptions are in the 6th grade but also quite rewarding and real lines. The usually rather unpleasant terrain and the strong jump Access paths is blocked by the block is not at sea for families with young children, and overall the Boulder area is quite spread out - a back and forth between the bouldering is sometimes quite complicated. These factors also shape the character of the Boulder area: It wants courted, not be consumed! Mostly moderate to strong wind blowing, so the need to Boulder rain only about 60 minutes to dry. The soil often remains wet much longer. Developed first, and was won by Bernd Zangerl the Boulder area, go to his account also the hardest ascents. A proper thank you is due him for the discussions / negotiations and the Pave the way for a wider audience Boulder.
Gives you the best printed topo has been appointed by Panico-Verlag. The team of alpboulder.com Panico, together with the topo published "en bloc Alps 1". In addition to the Silvretta find here a number of other top names in the Alps: Magic Wood, Sust, Gotthard pass, ... the list is long and the Topo first quality. All blocks are photographed and drawn the lines clearly.
In addition to Alpentopo there is also an online topo with photos. In the Boulder area climbers-paradise.com Silva Park was officially presented by the tourism and offered the topos. During our visit we met Norman Griesser from Paznaun - Ischgl and we were very friendly and curious. Nice to see that you are welcome as bouldering and that cooperation seems to work!
up
Galtür and Wirl, there are many hotels and at Zeinisee also a campground, which offers affordable accommodation. Is not desired, the wild camping and parking! In particular, the wild camping in the parking lot Kopsee must be taboo. Please do not endanger the good cooperation between officials and boulderers by scrimping selfish!
Perhaps there is indeed a variant in the near future, eg when bouldering Zeinisee use the car park including toilet facilities for a fee allowed?
Those arriving from further afield, which is also outside the Boulder area many opportunities for recreation. Boredom comes from this beautiful mountain scenery in any case not even on rest days. And rest days should be stated in schedule the trip, because the rock is very skin-eating.
Originally actually the Zillertal was planned, but after reading "Alpine en bloc 1" and when the weather was reported as good, the Silvretta moved closer to our focus. During my last visit I was always on the road without Topo and since the information is limited more to the 8a.nu severe Boulder, I was more relaxed, more time off the territory to "discover" the 8-tracks. The images were ever made in any case very promising! Briefly again when Boulderschof checked that the conditions were probably pretty good too, we were on our way. Once again we planned completely stupid stood in the middle of the night at the sale sticker with a nearly empty tank and shivered us (like every time so far) to the next gas station. Freshly filled the tank again, we took the Silvretta High Alpine Road towards Galtür and were rewarded with a goal at the starry sky amidst the magnificent alpine scenery.
The next morning started perfectly: great weather, balmy weather and a breath of fresh air - to hot coffee and a delicious breakfast - we strengthened shouldered the crash pads and headed to the boarding. The first goal of the sector "Manitou's Shoe" was - after an exhausting climb, we were drenched in sweat eponymous block and put in hand. After "Squa Man" worked, we moved into the sector "Super Crack". While Mia checks off one boulder after another, I shredded my fingers to "crossover" and in the sector, "Palm Beach" on "Zwiederwurzn". Both wanted to succeed in Boulder me, but at least I had torn the first hole in the left hand - sometimes even a success.
The second day we were received, unfortunately, no longer so friendly, a bit overcast but we were still hopeful of creating one or the other Boulder. As we hid our material the day before between the blocks, we were able to climb a little more relaxed and bouldering. "Crossover" I managed now in the first attempt and also had their fun with Mia "Italian Summer". Then we moved back up to the "Zwiederwurzn". After the previous day did not even fold all the individual features, I could finally make all the train today - then it started to rain. Cowering and buckelnd we waited in the rain under the Zwiederwurz block until there was a rain delay. The rain came and the wind was coming - just in time, I managed the climb-through of "Zwiederwurzn" before it began again to buckets. The beautiful plan to deposit the pads, was now over and, of course, fearing an even rainier day we ran with three pads in the pouring rain back down to the car.
The third day was nasty: rainy, cloudy and very very poorly predicted. Without further ado, we opted for the comfortable boarding the cable car. The cable car staff was very helpful - the pads were completely take away the problem. Aside from price, the main disadvantage of the funicular is definitely the last downhill run early at 17:00 clock. Given the current weather situation, we always believed it not, bouldering longer be able to relax and went to the top. In the sector "Golden Gate" I went on the "nuclear flash" to create, while Mia is "the left feet" ausboulderte. Once we get both in Boulder, we moved on to "Gautscho" - a very casual Boulder and a very nice line. With shredded fingers we went back to the cable car downhill.
It rained all night and the next morning - at bouldering was not really thinking. The state of our fingers but was now more or less meat, so we went without a guilty conscience to go home. Aside from the beautiful days and class-Boulder took the break, the turning point for one of our longer projects: While we huddled under the Zwiederwurzn awaiting the rain fell, the final decision - a bus her needs, or there is no bouldering trips more! Upon arrival in Wiesbaden was also found our object of desire and the search for several months now has finally over-uh bus! :)
